This article is for Genstar builders in Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg as Genstar moves from Streetscape to LotWorks. It covers what happens to your data during the switchover, how your Streetscape records will appear in LotWorks, and what will work differently day to day.
The Switchover Schedule
Tuesday, July 21st - Your last day in Streetscape. Complete all entries by 8:00 PM MDT. Anything entered in Streetscape after that time will not carry over to LotWorks.
Wednesday, July 22nd - Migration day. Streetscape is closed and LotWorks is not yet available while we transfer everything over.
Thursday, July 23rd - LotWorks goes live in the morning. We'll send you an email the moment Genstar's LotWorks system is ready for you.
What Happens to Your Data
What Transfers Automatically
| Category | Comes Across | Notes |
| Lot Purchases | Yes | Lot sale statuses are mapped to their LotWorks equivalents (see tables below). |
| Lot Holds | Yes | (Calgary and Edmonton only) Any lots on hold in Streetscape come across as "On Hold." |
| Architectural Approvals | Yes | Approved homes will still be approved (see tables below). All documents, including stamped drawings and, (in Edmonton) uploaded grade certificates and elevation photos, will be accessible. Colour selections for main finish elements (see below) migrate; one-off selections do not. |
| Inspections | Yes | See below |
| Documents | Yes | Any documents generated in Streetscape or uploaded and attached to a lot are transferred and viewable in LotWorks, |
| Photos | Yes | Any photos tagged to a lot will be migrated to LotWorks. |
| Notes | NO | Any notes tagged to a lot will NOT be migrated. |
Colour Selections. Most colour selections for your homes, whether they were mid-stream in Streetscape or fully approved, have been migrated to LotWorks. Selections for all of these main finish elements come across:
- Finish
- Roof
- Walls - Main
- Walls - Secondary
- Walls - Accent
- Fascia & Rainware
- Soffit
- Door & Window Frames
- Trims/Battens
- Masonry
- Front Door
- Garage Door
- Front Steps/Porch (Vertical Exposed Surfaces)
- Front Railing
- Columns
- Deck (Vertical Exposed Surfaces)
- Deck Railing
- Driveway
- Door & Window Frames
- Eavestrough
- Brackets
- Rear Door
- Side Door
NOTE: If you had a one-off colour selection for an element that is not on this list, it has not been migrated. You will need to re-enter it in LotWorks.
Model Names. Model names have been migrated as-is.
Model Types. Model type (e.g. Two Storey, Bungalow) was a free-text field in Streetscape but is a dropdown menu in LotWorks, with a short list of acceptable types. Your model type may therefore not read exactly as it did before. Every home has been mapped to one of:
- 2 Storey
- 3 Storey
- Bi-Level
- Bungalow
- Split Level
- N/A - Blank (your home did not have a model type in Streetscape)
- N/A - Unmapped (your home had a model type that could not be matched to one of the five types above)
What Your Data Will Look Like in LotWorks
Streetscape and LotWorks use different names for the same stages. The tables below show how each of your Streetscape statuses maps to its LotWorks equivalent.
Lot Sale Statuses
| Streetscape Status | LotWorks Lot Status |
| Available | Available |
| Available from Builder | Builder Inventory |
| Quick Possession | Spec |
| Hold | On Hold |
| Sold | Sold |
| Showhome | Showhome |
Home Approval Statuses
| Streetscape Status | LotWorks Architectural Approval Status |
| Awaiting Submission | Not Migrated * |

| Conditional Final Complete | Architectural Design Partially Approved |
| Final Approval Request | Architectural Design Fully Submitted |
| Special Request | Architectural Design Fully Submitted |
| Revision Request | Architectural Design Fully Submitted |
| Final Approval Complete | Architectural Design Fully Approved |
* In LotWorks, homes are automatically queued ("Pending Architecturals") for partial submission as soon as a lot is assigned or allocated to a builder. Full submissions cannot be made until two conditions have been met: Genstar acknowledges receipt of a deposit, and you have indicated you either have a home buyer or intend to build the home on spec (see Architectural Approvals below).
Inspection Statuses: Home Inspections (Edmonton only)
Home inspections are requested by the builder and conducted by E2, in Edmonton only. Calgary and Winnipeg have no home inspections.

* In LotWorks, home inspections are automatically queued ("Home Inspection Ready") 365 days after the date of full architectural approval. At that point, builder site supervisors can request a home inspection by clicking "Submit Home Inspection."
Remember to attach two photos of the finished elevation and upload the grade certificate from the city.
Inspection Statuses: Final Inspections
Final inspections cover damage to the site. They are requested by Genstar and conducted by the engineering firm responsible for the community, in Calgary and Edmonton only. Winnipeg has no final inspections.

What Will NOT Be Migrated
We are migrating everything that is available to us through Streetscape's export. All records are a snapshot of the current state of your lot and home, and do not include any historical information. Examples of data not migrated are:
- Anything entered in Streetscape after 8:00 PM MDT on Tuesday, July 21st.
- Your general communications thread on the lot.
- Your home approval submission history is not migrated over. We can only import the current snapshot of your home submission.
- One-off colour selections for elements outside the main finish list above. For home approvals in mid-stream, you may need to re-enter these as write-in selections in LotWorks.
Something Look Wrong?
On your first sign-in, it's worth spot-checking a few things: your lot statuses, colour selections on active homes, and model types (anything LotWorks couldn't match will show as "N/A - Unmapped").
If something is missing or doesn't line up with what you had in Streetscape, email help@lotworks.ca with the community, the lot number, and what you expected to see.
What's Different
Lot Sales
Calgary and Edmonton: builder sales staff can request lot holds or submit purchase requests on lots in open inventory.
Winnipeg: builder lot holds and purchase requests are not part of Genstar's process in Winnipeg. You may see these options in LotWorks, but Genstar will reject all hold and purchase requests submitted there.
Home Sales
In all markets, builder sales staff are asked to update LotWorks as soon as you have a firm buyer on the lot/home.
Architectural Approvals
No lot locking. In LotWorks, your architectural approval details are not manually locked or unlocked by Genstar. Instead, LotWorks makes sure you cannot submit a home for full approval until Genstar has acknowledged receipt of a deposit on the lot sale. Before that, you can only make a partial submission.
Partial submissions. You can make a partial architectural submission as soon as the lot is allocated or assigned (under contract) to you. There are no requirement checks: submit any aspect of the design, whether that's colour selections or preliminary drawings. Your design cannot be fully approved from a partial submission.
Full submissions. You can make a full architectural submission once two conditions have been met - and they must be done in this order:
- Genstar has acknowledged receipt of a deposit on the lot.
- Only Genstar can complete this action.
- You have either added a homebuyer on your lot OR flagged that it is being built on spec.
- To do this, click the "Add Home Buyer" option on your lot. The next step allows you to either add buyer information or flag it as spec.
In a full submissions, all requirements are checked, and PDFs of your plot and house plan must be submitted.
In short, deposit acknowledgment is the hinge event in LotWorks: it opens full architectural submissions and starts your initial inspection window (below).
Inspections
Initial inspections (Calgary and Edmonton). You are not required to submit an Initial Inspection. This is a window of opportunity for your site supervisors to inspect the lot and provide Genstar with photographic evidence of any damage found on the site prior to construction. Whereas in Streetscape, anyone could simply add photos to a lot, it's more structured in LotWorks.
You have 30 days from the day a deposit on the lot purchase is acknowledged as received in LotWorks. Site supervisors can click on the "Initial Inspection Ready" status on your dashboard, select the right lot from the list, and click "Submit Initial Inspection" to attach and upload photos.
Home and final inspections. FLIs are split into home inspections and final inspections in LotWorks. Both are queued as ready to submit 365 days from the date of full architectural approval.
- Home inspections (Edmonton only). Requested by the builder and conducted by E2. Both the home inspection and the final inspection must pass in order for any lot damage deposits to be refunded.
- Final inspections (Calgary and Edmonton only). Only Genstar can request a final lot damage inspection. The results determine whether any damage on the site will be invoiced to the builder.
- Winnipeg: No home or final inspections in LotWorks. Existing process for home and final inspections continues to be used.
To see how your existing Streetscape inspection records were carried over, see the mapping tables in What Your Data Will Look Like in LotWorks.
FAQ (Post-Launch Problems)
I can't sign in.
- If you didn't fill out the Builder Contact Registration form (emailed to all existing Streetscape users), you'll need to contact Genstar for access to LotWorks. They'll create your user profile, which will connect with your LotWorks Account automatically:
Not all my colour selections are there.
- Selections for the main finish elements were migrated. One-off selections for elements outside that list were not, and may need to be re-entered in LotWorks, if vital for the approval of your home.
Why can't I submit for full architectural approval?
- Full submissions open once Genstar acknowledges receipt of a deposit on the lot sale. Until then, you can make a partial submission with any aspect of the design.
