Holds, and other system processes that deal specifically with expiry times, expire at the exact time they were scheduled to occur, and not at the start of the day.
To find out when your hold expires from the map view, click on the lot. The date will be shown in the "Expires" field.
This means that a lot hold requested at 8:08am will expire at 8:08am, X days later.
Unless a lot is purchased, Lot Holds will expire automatically after 21 days. This can vary depending on the individual settings of your land developer.
48 hours prior to expiry, the builder who initially requested the lot hold will be sent a reminder notification that the hold will expire, and the next step (Purchase Request) should be taken.
Extensions and Cancellations
The developer has the ability to grant extensions on the lot's Expiry Date. Changes to this date are recorded in the Hold window.
To request an extension on a lot hold, the builder should contact the developer directly.
If your hold is no longer valid but there is some time before it expires, you may click Remove Hold from the Lot Map or Lot Details page to cancel your hold on the lot.
This allow other sales associates the opportunity to place a hold on the lot with a different buyer.
